General Light Waste skip bins in Perth suit household junk, old furniture, light timber, white goods, metals, cardboard, paper, plastics and suitable green waste with no tree stumps. Backyard Bins supplies 2m³ to 12m³ bins throughout Perth’s southern suburbs and selected northern riverside suburbs, with prices starting from $290.
Do not place soil, sand, bricks, concrete, tiles, building rubble or turf in a General Light Waste bin. These materials need a different waste category. Backyard Bins also cannot accept asbestos, car tyres, mattresses, cement-based sheeting, gas bottles, fire extinguishers, liquids, chemicals, pesticides, oils, paint or batteries in any skip bin.
Choose General Light Waste when your rubbish is bulky but light and mainly comes from the home, garage, shed, office or garden. It gives you one place for approved waste and saves you from making several tip runs.
Clear unwanted household junk, boxes, packaging, plastics, light timber and other approved clutter at your own pace.

Dispose of approved chairs, tables, cabinets and shelving. Mattresses cannot go in any Backyard Bins skip bin.
Clear approved household junk before settlement, handover or moving day, without making repeated trips to the tip.
Remove approved furniture, cardboard, household clutter and light waste between tenants or before a property handover.
Load suitable green waste such as small branches and garden cuttings. Keep out tree stumps, soil, turf and heavy landscaping material.
General Light Waste is Backyard Bins’ category for lighter household, commercial and garden rubbish. It covers approved items such as household junk, furniture, white goods, metals, cardboard, paper, plastics, timber and suitable green waste.
The correct waste category matters because heavy materials need different handling and pricing. If your load includes soil, sand, bricks, concrete, tiles, building rubble or turf, choose another waste type or call us before booking. We are always willing to be on the phone and discuss matters with you.

Use the lists below to check your load before booking. If one item does not fit the General Light Waste rules, call Backyard Bins so we can help you choose the correct category.
Keep every item at or below the top rail of the bin so we can transport it safely. If the bin contains materials that do not match the booked waste category, extra disposal charges may apply. Call us before adding anything you are unsure about.

We know Perth conditions and service the southern suburbs plus selected northern riverside suburbs from our Beeliar base.
We help you match the bin to the rubbish before delivery, reducing the risk of choosing the wrong category or paying unexpected disposal charges.

Place flat items at the bottom, break down bulky furniture where it is safe to do so, and flatten cardboard before loading it. Use smaller approved rubbish to fill gaps and spread the weight across the bin.
Keep the whole load at or below the top rail. Do not leave furniture, timber or other items sticking above the bin. If an item is too heavy, hazardous or difficult to identify, call Backyard Bins before adding it.
